Dear Sheppard
DKPA stands for deepest known paternal ancestry or in other words the furthest back paternal ancestor that you know about e.g. your great, great grandfather. The country part relates to the country they lived in.

Thanks, Grey Owl. That helps a lot! I'm disappointed that in the Database Search I don't find any Perkins contacts with an e-mail address except for me [seven Perkins persons listed in the database]. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Terms of use 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Hello. I've almost finished reading Blood of the Isles and find it fascinating. I was very excited about discovering my clan via mDNA. However, the terms of use of the website contain an indemnity provision that is unacceptable. It requires you to pay money to Oxford Ancestors for liabilities that may not be your fault - for losses that other people might cause, or that are strictly accidental. While such losses may be unlikely to occur, if they do occur the financial damage to the unlucky subscriber could be catastrophic.
Dang. I was so looking forward to exploring this interesting avenue. Does it bother anyone else that Oxford Ancestors has this onerous provision in the terms of use? Regards - Chathol-linn

I have had lots of issues with the database which remain unexplained by Oxford Ancestry. I also have found that I could not find anyone with my DNA with an email address. By "playing" with the system I found that you have to turn on your email in your profile section for it to be seen. I find the lack of information in using the sight very very limited. An easy to use site would encourage one to tell and sell it to friends which would mean more business to Oxford Ancestors.
